Stuck in the mayhem of memories
One realises it’s futility.
This could happen or that could happen,
But the matter is, ‘what had happened’.
You can’t rewind the flow of time
Or you can, just in your mind?
Time is a loop and you are the mouse who runs around the little wheel but never gets to reach the hung piece of cheese.
What if I held his hand while crossing the road?
What if we didn’t get out that evening for home supplies?
What if; what if he would still be calling me, ”mommy”?
There shall always be an ‘if’ in life
But we have to move on, and stop asking ”what if”?
